When we brought him home he was pointing for short periods of time all the time. Now he just runs in to grab the item. I found an injured dove and tried to use that to get him to point but he just kept trying to get at it. He loves to retrieve and comes wen he is called (unless distracted by humans or dogs) but I need to know how to make him point

Ammo is pricey, but I would think I could get it reloaded for me or buy it by the case. The gun is so handy and slick. It is used, but, not abused.
