What is the best ammo to use Duck hunting with a 12 gauge?

My dad has a 12 gauge that supports 2-3/4" and 3" rounds. Which is the best one to use duck hunting?

I use #4 –3in. brass. Steel is ok.. Lead gets eaten by the ducks and lead poisons them.

If I am hunting in the brush then I will have 2-3/4" #4-5's in Winchester Expert or Estate Cartridges.
If I am hunting in open terrain and/or going after bigger ducks (mallards etc.) I will use 3" #2-3's in Winchester Expert or Estate Cartridges.

I use Federal 3" shells, i use #2 shot, it's plenty for a mallard, and enought to take down a goose if one comes in.

use 3" , 4 shot and when your shooting smaller ducks like your teal use 6 shot

3.5 inch Winchester HV #2…..these are cheap and good. My son and his buddies shot 400 ducks this season using these.

if you can afford it and you have a barrel that can take it bismuth patterns the best and has the best knockdown power
