What is your opinion on the 5 year old Arkansas boy shooting a 445 pound bear while hunting with Grandpa?

So a fragile five year old human child can kill a 445 pound bear.
Doesn't that just show the dominion the 'smart monkey' has over nature, thanks to technology (in this case, the rifle), and how unwisely and pointlessly we abuse the responsibilty that comes with the gift of our reasoning intellect and manual dexterity.
Poor bear! Howabout a 'level playing field' replay – bear vs grandpa and kid, but no guns? Hmmmmm, thought not…..

my opinion is, what the heck was a five year old doing with a gun? much less one big enough to take down a bear!

I think that's too young…way too young.
I am not for hunting but there are people that do it. I think the boy needs to be trained with a gun properly and know the consequences of using it. Life vs. Death…I don't see how a 5 year old can know that honestly.

Even a chimp can pull a trigger. Now if the 5 year old killed the bear with a bow that would be something.

It was not the 5 yo that killed this magnificent creature it was the gun that he should never be allowed to fire. What a way to bring up a child that age.Next thing we will be reading will be how many of his school pals he has also shot

Way to go 5 yr olds killing with guns. I hunted when t was 5 but never killed anything till i was 12, you know when you know that you only kill for food. I find that you know why so many people die in your country, RIGHT FROM WRONG

I was very outraged by this . It's one thing for a killing a bear if it's trying to attack or harm you, but it's another if it's just minding its business. The boy that shot the bear was way to young to be shooting guns and his father said he started when he was just 21/2 years old.
I hope the family of the boy feels ashamed of themselves but i'm sure they don't because in the video they looked just like a big happy high school drop out family. That's not very unusual for people in the south btw.

A 5 year old shot a bear with one shot from his "youth rifle"? Lets be real. Grandpa shot the bear…and he wasn't using a "youth rifle!"
